Sam Allardyce wants Crystal Palace star as first Everton signing in £20m deal

first_img1 Sam Allardyce is ready to raid former club Crystal Palace in January.The new Everton boss is looking to strengthen his squad in the New Year and, according to The Sun, has earmarked James Tomkins as his first Toffees signing.Everton have won four of their five games under Allardyce, who was appointed in November, and have conceded only two goals.But Allardyce is looking to boost his defensive options and it is understood he is lining up a reunion with Tomkins, who he worked with at West Ham.Tomkins has made 38 appearances for Palace since joining them from West Ham for £10million in 2016.Palace are likely to demand £20m to part with the 28-year-old but that is unlikely to deter Everton, who are bankrolled by billionaire Farhad Moshiri.last_img read more
