first_img Share    PENSACOLA, Fla. – The University of West Florida Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will induct the seven members of the 2012-13 Hall of Fame class on Friday, Jan. 25 at Scenic Hills Country Club. To honor them, one of the seven inductees will be highlighted each day for a week at www.GoArgos.com and today’s profile is former tennis player Radovan Chrz.Arguably the most successful tennis player of all-time at the University of West Florida, Radovan Chrz is a two-time Intercollegiate Tennis Association NCAA Division II singles national champion (2000 and 2001), an eight-time ITA All-American (four-time ITA singles, four-time ITA doubles), and he led the Argonauts’ 2004 squad to the first national championship in program history.His freshman year, Chrz won the ITA Super Bowl singles competition, a competition between each of the national champions from Division II, Division III, NAIA and junior colleges.At the conference level, the Prague, Czech Republic native was named the Gulf South Conference Player of the Decade after earning four All-GSC first team honors (2001-2004) and being named the GSC East Division Player of the Year twice (2001, 2003).The Argos made it to the D-II Finals in each of Chrz’s four years at UWF and the team won two conference championships during that span. In addition, he was a GSC “Top Eight” selection in 2003-04, an award given to the top four male and female student-athletes based on athletic, academic and extracurricular achievement. He was also honored on the 2003 GSC All-Academic team.Chrz’s awards continued. He was the 2001 South Region and National ITA Rookie Player of the Year, 2001 ITA South Region Doubles Champion (with teammate Fernando Damus), 2004 South Region Senior Player of the Year, and the 2001 GSC East Division Freshman of the Year.The Hall of Fame Weekend kicks off Friday, Jan. 25 with a social hour at 6 p.m. at Scenic Hills Country Club. The hall of fame banquet and program follows at 7 p.m. where the seven inductees (Peter Antoske, baseball; Radovan Chrz, men’s tennis; Michelle Gibson, women’s basketball; Ewell Howard, special achievement; Sarah Nicholson, women’s golf, Stephen Simmons, men’s soccer; Kevin Warrick, men’s golf) will gain entrance into the UWF Athletics Hall of Fame.Festivities continue into Saturday, Jan. 26 when the UWF women’s and men’s basketball teams host GSC foe Christian Brothers at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively. Efeknya adalah tubuh lebih mudah mengantuk dan lelah. Ini bisa terjadi pada Anda karena asupan tinggi karboohidrat dan gula dalam makanan dan kemungkinan kantuk Anda karena diabetes.5. Tubuh kekurangan cairanAir adalah kebutuhan terpenting dalam kehidupan. Biasakan minum air putih jangan minum minuman lain. Teenager stabs man to death at Barima

first_imgAlthough the Guyana Police Force has announced a 40 per cent decrease in serious crimes in F Division (Interior Locations) thus far for 2016, another murder was recorded on Wednesday evening. This time, a teenager was accused of stabbing a man during a drinking spree at Ela Landing, North West District (NWD), Region One (Barima-Waini).The dead man was identified was Junior Moses, 44, a farmer of Barima, NWD. The stabbing incident occurred about 18:40h. Investigations revealed that Moses and the suspect, a 17-year-old, were consuming alcohol when an argument erupted.It was during the argument, the teenager armed himself with a knife and stabbed Moses once to his abdomen and made good his escape. Moses was taken to the Mabaruma Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His body is presently at the hospital’s mortuary, awaiting a post-mortem. However, the matter was reported and the teenager was subsequently arrested. He is being questioned by the Police and is expected to be arraigned for murder.Only on Tuesday, F Division Commander, Senior Superintendent Ravindradat Budhram highlighted that out of the 19 murders that were committed for the year thus far, 15 of them were solved. He also pointed out that a total of 33 illegal firearms were seized compared to 16 in 2015.last_img read more
